This handbook is meant as an introductory document for professionals and interested lay persons who are involved with biodiversity conservation in forest fringe and modified landscapes in the region. The intent of this document is to provide an introduction to the key ecological elements that could be incorporated for multi-use planning as well as the socio-economic and political mechanisms by which some of these aspects are being incorporated in other parts of the developing world
