Dear IBP Members,

I wish to suggest some view regarding the photographs uploaded in IBP. when we upload these image anyone can use it but we are not getting acknowledged , son kindly what ever photo are uploaded the photograph must gen a IBP logo (or Updated user's name) printed on it. so who ever downloads or try to use it for their purpose we will automatically get acknowledged. we are updating n number of organism many people working on those organisms they may use our photographs. If we upload our photographs in tamil matrimony ithe image automatically gets the tamil matrimony logo on it. it is kind of a security on image. when the download or copy or share the image our portal also gets free advertisements. because still many researchers and individuals dont have any idea about our portal..so please consider my suggestion..

Dear Elaya Perumal. One of the core principles of IBP is that its content is available freely for reuse under Creative Commons licences. There are 6 CC licences, all of which facilitate redistribution and sharing under certain conditions. All of the six creative commons licence state that attribution should be given to the original uploader everytime it is used. Watermarking an image is not something that would be considered friendly for open access and reuse and is restrictive. We have seen that people are generally becoming more aware and sensitive to giving credits while reusing images and content.
