Assess the global conservation status of all 265 reptile species found in the Western Ghats, compile detailed information on each species and make the results freely available through the IUCN Red List site and other online portals. Solicit and publish articles on Western Ghats biodiversity in an open-access, peer-reviewed journal, provide tutoring to authors and disseminate widely among key stakeholders.

Proposes to set up Community and Conservation Reserves in the Anamalai Corridor (Theni and Palni Hills) to integrate local communities into biodiversity conservation. The management at existing reserves will be assessed, reserve management plans will be prepared for nominated reserves through the participation of multiple key stakeholders and a suitable reserve management committee will be identified
Project Report
Developing a long-term conservation strategy for the hornbills and their habitat in the landscape unit with the support of the Kadar tribe, by assessing availability of hornbill nesting trees, nest characteristics, habitat details and threat factors. Project also envisages strengthening of ongoing participatory conservation activity in the Vazhachal forest division with the support of forest department, Kadar tribe and their community groups

Develop a model for in situ conservation of vulture populations in southern India and pilot in the Moyar Valley. Establish broad-based local support for vulture conservation , advocate for cessation of veterinary use of diclofenac, and pilot innovative conservation measures, such as a diclofenac-free sanctuary for domestic cattle, and a compensation scheme for households that lose animals to depradation by predators

Project focuses on networking groups working on the rocky plateaus and building their capacity for conservation and management of 15 sites in North-Western Ghats. Capacity building to monitor and assess threatened biodiversity will be done by team of scientists and a manual will be prepared and information openly shared. Management guidelines will be formalized with the concerned government departments
Biome Conservation Foundation
Assess conservation priority areas in the northern part of Malnad-Kodagu corridor in Western Ghats. Project will compile the researches done in the landscape over the years and collect baseline ecological and diversity status data for Aghanashini and Bedthi river valley in detail. Based on this, proposals would be developed to identify the priority regions in the corridor under better protection strategies with different legal options
